Science Education Built Around the Learner

McClellan Science Academy was created around a simple belief:

Students learn best when teaching begins with the learner—not with a standardized lesson plan.

Our educational approach combines science knowledge, teaching experience, and individualized instruction to help adult learners build stronger academic foundations.

The Academy was founded by Camille McClellan, MD, whose background includes medical education, graduate-level biomedical science training, and more than 15 years of experience teaching and tutoring Biology and Chemistry.

Her experience across medicine, biomedical science, health education, and teaching provides a perspective that reaches beyond textbook memorization.

Scientific concepts are taught as interconnected ideas.

Biology connects to physiology. Physiology connects to disease. Chemistry connects to biochemistry. Foundational science becomes the basis for understanding increasingly complex material.

Our Philosophy

We don’t believe every student should be taught exactly the same way.

Two students enrolled in the same course may struggle for completely different reasons.

One may understand the concepts but have difficulty applying them to questions.

Another may be trying to learn advanced material without a strong foundation.

Another may understand the science but need a more effective approach to studying and retaining it.

Our role is to identify those differences and teach accordingly.

Education That Builds Forward

The objective isn’t simply

"Can you answer this question?"

It’s also:

"Do you understand the concept well enough to recognize and apply it when the question looks different?"
